An Inspiring Journey: From Colombia to the Creation of Diana Nature
I am Diana Rojas, a Colombian who came to France for love in 2019. Like many other emigrants, my adaptation here has not been easy. It takes patience and perseverance to find our place in a new society.
At first, I had to deal with the language barrier. Not being able to communicate was a huge limitation that led me to undiagnosed depression. However, I decided to take on this challenge and taught myself French, as I couldn't afford to pay for a course. Today, although I don't speak it perfectly, I am proud to have overcome this obstacle.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the situation became even more difficult. We were dependent on my husband’s savings and government assistance. For me, a microbiologist accustomed to being independent, this dependency was a severe blow. Despite my husband’s unconditional support, I struggled with feelings of worthlessness.
When things started to improve, I knew I had to find a job to find meaning in my life again. I applied for jobs as a chambermaid in hotels and, thanks to the trust of my bosses, I regained my confidence and self-esteem. That first job was a springboard to new opportunities.
After some time, for reasons beyond my control, I had to leave my job at the hotel. It was a moment of reflection and personal growth. I decided to take some time to rest and, currently, I am co-founder of an association which helps Latin Americans to integrate economically and professionally in France legally.
Additionally, I started my own business, Diana Nature , where I promote the importance of self-care using natural and organic products. This space allows me to share my passion and knowledge, helping others enhance their natural beauty.
